So the advice during these times is to try to keep a normal routine as far as is possible

So for me it is now time to have breakfast and get dressed.

My normal routine isn't to stay in my house 24/7.

If they mean keep the same routine day in day out while we're indoors then I would strongly disagree. That makes all the days blur into one and you don't know what day it is. My advice would be the opposite, try and do something different every day! I haven't taken my own advice there sadly. I tend to just play The Golf Club and Championship Manager every night.

That said, I'm on leave today. On my working from home days the routine is:
8:30 get out of bed, brush teeth etc go downstairs and stick the work computer on.
9:30 to 9:45 half breakfast. Some form of cereal.
12:30 lunch
17:00 finish work and try and force myself to go for a run. This only happens about 2 out of 5 days really.
18:00 start the debate with wife over what we'll have for dinner.
20:45 eat dinner, while watching Taskmaster.
21:30 leave her to watch crap with our housemate while I retreat back to my 'home office' to play Champ Man and Golf Club as mentioned.

To all intents and purposes today I am living a normal Winter workday. The only difference is that Mondays and Tuesdays I'd be getting up a bit earlier to take my Mrs to the station for the 06:55 train to Waterloo and I'd be picking her up at 17:55. Of course with the clocks having now gone forward today I'd be off for a few holes this evening...

Normal day. In work at 6.45am and out about 4.30. Home by 5.00 courtesy of a lift or it would have been the usual hour commute on train and bus risking infection. Have to be honest at the moment I'm actually happy to be working (if not the hours) to keep a sense of normality in my life.
