Thing is it has a shorty grip so you can't grip down,against my g15 at Celtic manor range yesterday it was comfortably 20 yards further,I find a more rounded aggressive swing works well with it.Still don't know if i will have the balls to play it in a comp though.

I was referring to modern drivers in general, not the Cobra Long Tom in particular. I tended to grip my 46" Callaway driver about an inch from the top to give better control (the grip was long enough to allow this), but I grip my new TM R1 driver with a 45.5" shaft pretty much at the top of the grip. I am both straighter and a bit longer with the latter.
