What happened to the Manx missile?!

Apperantly the coverage of sports (ie cameras etc) is split up across countries because the home country cant do it all. The Times today says what sports BBC is doing and who was doing the cycling but i cant remember who it was.

apprently the particualr reason Cavendish had the strop about teh Tour de France question was :
1) the winner also did the Tour
2) the interviewer knew nothing about cycling and therefore an interviewer who did wouldnt have asked it (apparently)

I really do think interviwers ought to not interview straight after losses in any sport, or not get surprised that they dont get an erudite well thought out answer

Personally, i would have like to have seen a Plan B, but apperantly Dave Brailsford, Millar, Wiggins, and Cavendish beat me at the job interview so i have to presume they know more than me, usand all the bloomin press :)

Never mind, good to watch, shame they lost, and well done to Armitsted today

germans were terrible, and just trying to sit and let team gb do the donkey work, back fired on them aswell because greiple would of got a medal aswell,
maybe next time they will work togeather

also the group infront was 2 big and had to much fire power, or did it show how much work bos haagan and port did for team sky in tour de france

Not in the slightest, it just shows how much difference a 5 man team (where one isn't working becasue he's being saved for the sprint) is compared to a 9 man team where one team can chase down a breakaway on its own.

Of course in large tours the breakaways ae nowmally smaller as well, so they can't keep up their pace as well.

A breakaway of 20 is almost unstoppable if they work together.

I'm not sure if it was before or after this interview

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXv3yA5k3i4

but I saw some woman interviewing him post race and hounding him with the "are you devastated?" and "how much does it hurt - you were expected to win, we all thought you'd win" line of "questioning". The last thing she said, in a snooty manner, was - "Mark Cavendish and the Olympics - not a great team", and thrust the mike back in his face. He did very well to calmly scoff and say "we'll see", I thought his restraint was unreal, possibly helped by his disbelief that this reporter would come out with such a remark. I would have told her where she could stick the mike, perhaps this other reporter was after that which explains a lot.

they let the lead riders get to far in front to early and giving top road racers a 6 min start was always going to be hard to pull back, the other team were very happy just to tag along and not do any front running as CAV said they were not bothered if the lost so long as team GB never won,the lack of split times was down to the race organisers and your not allowed any radio's in this kind of race, the are allowed in tour races BUT only for safety reasons and should not be used for team tactics???????
