What equipment would you restrict in golf ???

I like that, as I can hit into a small bunker easily from 200 yards every time, where as hitting the large green bit is impossible.

I'd like to see the putts made on the practice putting green count!!! I can always one/two putt on there but I have a mare on the proper greens!!!

So, with the rough now fairway and the fairway now rough, the greens in the bunkers and the bunkers in the car park, the practice putting green counting as 'through the green' - we're sorted!!! We've just got to convince the R&A to accept our proposals. With the backing of this forum and the GM team it's a formality!!!

Being serious about this for a moment though.

The problem is that the elite are hitting it so far that courses are having to be lenghtened. So the problem doesn't concern the rest of us, the majority that play the game.

So what's the answer? As I see it, lets not roll back technilogical development, ie. balls, clubs etc. Lets just make the championship courses that; for champions. Make them harder for the elite. That way, we enjoy the trappings of using the same kit as the Pros (or at least the marketing chaps can let us believe that), and we don't ave to go bak to using what could be coined as 'inferior kit' than what we are now used to.

Why not just put an internal OOB at 275-325 in the middle of all fairways, that will stop the lower handicapers being able to hit it long down the fairway like all that practice they have done has enabled them to do the rotters

That's a top idea. I'm in.

What we need is an O.O.B. type cricket wicket/strip slap bang in the middle from 270-292 and a ravine across the fairway at 293-310.

I think if you are in receipt of shots in a match you should be able to give back some of those and in return make the better player replay a shot. For example if I was getting 4 shots off a guy I could opt to get shots in the normal way at SI 1 and 2 and then have to replays to use at my discretion.

Smarty pants single figure holes a huge putt to win the hole and is feeling good. "Hold on my fine friend I think I'll see if you can do that again!"
