Rockmount is in a nice plot of land, quite a few little water features and long par 4's, some holes are a little samey but well worth playing. Food is pretty good also.

Rated mine a 9, the course condition and play ability all year round coupled with value for money make it that. The guys in the Pro shop are spot on and its well stocked. Would have gave it a 10 but the clubhouse staff and managing secretary are shocking with there attitude at times so they get a 1 out of 10.

The only issue I have with my local course is it's length.

Although short, it is very, very tight and provides a very good test to most level of player.

I've given mine an 8

The main course is superb, and the 9 hole is the second best course in the area ;)
Practice facilities and club house are pretty good

The only thing that lets it down are some of the Elitist members

That does look a nice track tinchump. Lucky boy.

Thanks its a great course probably the best ive played, similar to many of the links you have up in Scotland i guess.

The clubs looking for more members at the moment if anybody fancies joining :)

My personal bugbear is the tees....what's wrong with cutting the grass?... or making them FLAT. Often I tee up a ball and it looks like it's sitting in the rough, it often takes a good look around to find a flat spot in the first place.

How come the green keepers can't notice when the course is in crap condition? Aren't these people supposed to be QUALIFIED?

About 11th,13th,14th,15th,16th and half of 18th are like that. And really how hard can it be to level them off.

Wyombe Heights = 5.

All their good work on the greens & an interesting track (every hole is different) good bunkers & tees are undone by incredible overbooking, a problem compounded by people vainly trying to find balls in the thickest rough I've ever seen on a course, at least give people a fighting chance.

The par 3, while having excellent greens (except the 18th which is evil) is spoiled by litter, old tee pegs, beer bottles strewn about, dog c**p on fairways and footpaths from greens to tees.

The management ought to take themselves and their staff to Bird Hills & Chartridge Park and compare their house keeping and feel thoroughly ashamed. Neither are the most interesting of courses but atleast they are clean & well kept.

I shall not be renewing my membership.

If you fancy a knock around Bird Hills give me a shout. Not played it for a few years and I know they've doen a fair bit of work to it so would be good to see how it plays. I know it still gets very wet though

Had to give my place nine out of ten.

Can play all year round, almost always on full greens, hardly have to wait to tee off most of the time.

What I don't like about it, too penal if you miss the fairways, is that not the point ?? Occasionally a little untidy.

Best greens in the west of Scotland ?

Would take a lot for me to move though.
