I said much the same to a FC from Glenbervie GC when playing in my clubs Scratch/HC open . He announced on the 1st tee " my exact HC is 2.2".
But after he started 8, 5, 6, I just had to ask him was that 22 or 2.2 ??? :smirk:.
Funny but he's still not invited me for a game at Glenbervie yet. lol.

My handicap is just a number. Trouble is, it's an ever increasing number.

That said, if I drove the ball a bit better, and wasn't a bundle of nerves all the time, I'd play half decent golf. Possibly.

Depends, sometimes it's an outrage that I'm not single figures based on some rounds and on others, how the hell is 36 not a legal male handicap in the UK.

Currently off 4.5.

I would say ok golfer I guess. Capable of shooting under par but also capable of shooting 80+. But generally I play for fun so take what comes week on week.

I don't have an official handicap and that is a fair reflection of my relaxed attitude to golf.

I would like to join a club and get one after we move to Yorkshire, not least because I would like to enter a few Open events.


My society handicap is currently 2 and I can still win off this on a given day. Won two events in the past year with level par rounds at St Georges Hill and North Hants for example. However, I am playing about once every two months so I am also capable of having a dreadful day - 18 points at Parkstone two weeks ago for instance!

Have just got the better of a bad back too so am hopeful that I will be playing in a richer vein of form again soon.

I'm off 9, although have been off 8. If you'd seen me play, you'd wonder how I have managed to get that low. I still wonder myself to be honest!

Not an official handicap, just an online one, and it says I don't put all the really bad rounds in, Just the mediocre & good ones. 21.5!
