Looking to start taking some stat's for analysis.

What application, spreadsheet or whatever is out there to assist?

Any recommendations?

I wrote my own spreadsheet and it suits my needs. Don't go as far as sand saves but plenty of other useful information such as % holes bogey, par, birdie, best score, average score, % GIR and fairways hit, average putts and average stableford points, my personal stroke index etc etc.

Then at the end of the year I summarise the main stats and compare.

SS2 is brilliant. As well as more stats than you can shake a stick at it has the facility to record practice sessions, lesson information and match results. Really easy to use and the on course form takes seconds to fill in when you do the scorecard.

Pm ss2 he might be able to help ;)It is pc based and after homer recommended it to me last year I bought it, as he said really easy to use the on course "planner" and takes just a few minutes to transfer the data across when you get in.

I've got a home-made spreadsheet but I only use it to keep track of my scores. Don't currently track my FIR / GIR % etc am considering doing it this year. I tend to know straight after a round what area(s) cost me the most shots and am not sure if keeping a set of detailed stats will do much more than that. Willing to be convinced otherwise though :D

I use scoresaver 2 as well, very usefull at telling me how bad I am

Actually you could see by the stats that many of my approach shots to the greens were short and right, so now i take more club, so im just right

Fragger

I use golfshake to track my stats and my scores/theoretical handicap as I don't have a club yet. Quite good.

Also the premium version is only £15 a year but you get vouchers worth more than that for golfbreaks and online tee times so you essentially get your money back!
