Hi i am new to the game and in process of buying a Calloway diablo 3 wood. The only thing is that the face comes in Draw or a Nuetral set up.

Now my driver that i got from my Dad has a draw set-up but what is it that determines what face set up to go for??????

Thanks in advance

Dean

I guess it depends on your standard. If you are a regular player and can normally hit a 3 wood ok I'd always plump for the neutral. That way if it starts going wrong its you and not the club.

The good thing about draw bias is that it will help compensate poor shots but it won't plaster over a bad swing. Rather than splash out why not get a lesson first and see how your swing is and then decide.

Yep, agree with Homer, have a lesson and ask the pro's advice. If you just go for one of them, it's easy to blame the club if things go wrong. If you've had professional advice, then you know it's more than likely it's your swing to blame, rather than the club, if you start duffing it. Take your time and make the right choice, we've all made expensive mistakes when buying kit

Yep, I agree with both above.

I considered getting a square 3/5 wood until I found I was plenty straight enough without and still kept the opportunity to fade the ball when needed.

It might calm down a slice (a bit) but could send your "stock shot" spiralling into no-man's-land....if you rely on a gentle fade 9/10.

All sound advice.

I would only add that I have draw biased driver (bought on advice!) that I don't use anymore. My stock shot was a slice, which is why I got the draw driver. Then my stock shot tured into a hook. Last thing you want is a draw biased club if you're a hooker!

Now I'm a pusher! When will it ever end!?
