Following on from my how many balls thread, I was wondering what balls people used. And whether you used different balls for soft, winter conditions, and hard, summer conditions. Currently I use Callaway ChromeSoft all year round, and was wondering if something else would suit. I swing at about 85-90 mph.

Use whatever ball you feel happy using and gives you confidence - can't go wrong with trial and error

With that sort of swing speed in Winter, don't use Pro V's! Any of the slightly softer balls seem to work better.

I have been using AD333 Tour and NXT S since the Autumn and use a premium (usually Bridgestone or Srixon) ball once the course firms and dries. No idea if it makes an iota of difference (probably not) but just what I use

I really like them supersoft balls. Only play them on days out as a treat.

I know its not the ball that does the scoring at my level. So any newish, softish one will do for the average knock

Received some bridgestone supersoft for xmas , not bad at all and seen them at £20 for 24

I'll use them through the winter or until i lose them all, whichever comes first :D

I find Srixon Soft Feel are a good all-rounder as do many of our mixed group (8-24 handicaps) Picked up some Callaway (allegedly premium quality) CXR Control at Direct Golf for silly money and have to say they aren't bad for me. Just bought a dozen Srixon AD 333 Tours as per the other thread and like them, again when having played with a pick-up.

Z Stars I can't seem to hit in the cold weather and Pro V1s (when I find them) seem to work for me but only in the warmer weather too.

Bridgestone e6 for me. Personal favourite of mine. Winter il play anything really. Random ones I find on the course or even something as cheap as a donnay one. Especially if I'm having an awful day and going through e6's like they're going out of fashion!

TBH, this time of year any old ball, played 5 holes yesterday lunchtime on the 9 hole course and used a pinnacle pink lady;) as it was just lying by the tee, much to the amusement of my PP.
soft greens and cold conditions, plus we are having the greens top dressed with sand quite often and every time the ball hits the green its getting scuffed.

summer/comps Prov1 or X is the only ball i will use
