well whata day ive had today, been sent home from work on full pay as the let our training lapse/not given to people. to do my job you have to have an EUSR water passport card and its came to light im a modual missing off it so can not work the water network with out it. (me and about 70 other people 10 from our depot) After then finding out i could be off to 8th december at the earliest when they will do an emergency course. My boss then wouldnt give me a straight answere if i will get paid to sit at home. SO phoned the union and found out its law and they have to pay me as they sent me home.
anyway that aside im kinda happy im off work paid as is still 10am so time for golf. Not played for 2 weeks and really lookin forward to it. Found 2mates to play and off we went. Started off bogey, bogey sand save par (rolled out to 5inches) par double bogey. starting to think its my day then i take 3 off the tee and walk away with a 7. next hole sky tee shot 2nd hit the trees 3rd i topped and then finally walked away with a 7. next hole skyed a t shot about 50yds  then got 3wood on to green 2 put for par happy days. next hole i take 5 yes 5 off the tee OOB left and then OOB right. next hole one of my faves drive again bit wonky but got it away then all hell broke loose. shanked my 3 wood, shanked my 7 iron. tidied up with a nice short pitch over bunker and a 1 put. few holes later game is getting worse and worse then all of a sudden im shanking from driver right down to 9I. having a real stinker and meant to be enjoying my self as getting paid to play haha.

Who ever said a bad day on the course is better than a good day at work today i must disagree, had an absolute shocker after starting so well and thought i was in for a good one. Dreading playing saturday now after that performace, although was nice to use trolley for first time today even if i was called an old man by me mates for having one. On a good note they managed to sort another course earlier so im off tomorrow and cant work sunday for double buble :( but back to work monday to sit a bloody exam haha.

So when your shanking do you try and play through it laugh it off or get angry? i did laugh then i got angry at my self and couldnt for the life of me work out what was going wrong.

No point in getting angry with the shanks, it just makes it worse. Being tense really doesn't help.

Sat at home all day with some disease or other (known as a cold to many), so no golf for me, just day time telly. Hk open, nedbank, now waiting for US golf.

At least you were out playing. I would love to be out there instead of being stuck indoors.

Don't worry about it. It happens. Of course if you get a bad case of the shanks then you need to find the cause and a cure. Shames they couldn't have found out about the missing module in summer but time off on full pay isn't to be sniffed at. Don't worry about Saturday and take it as it comes

Still got a cold. Went to the practice ground today, and first shot pulled something in my groin (cue rubbish jokes). Am now struggling to walk. Great. Got a pairs comp tomorrow, and a lesson booked for Monday. It never rains but it pours.
