Has anybody got a recommendation for a glove that grips really well in the wet?

Also, I've seen some sold in pairs. Do you need to wear 2 (if it's not cold) or is 1 good enough?

Thanks.

I have a FJ wet weather glove and it works perfectly and it plays better when its wet, however i believe you need 2 gloves as your other hand always gets wet as well however you try to keep it dry.

Region,
Iv got the FJ RainGrip they come as a pair and there very good i wear them seperate sometimes but the wetter they get the better grip they have... I think they only cost me 20€ at the time but it was money well spent.

Is it that bad up North it’s raining in July?

Two gloves - Wrong on so many levels. Never! Almost as bad as carrying a ball retriever.

Not when your still nailing your shots straight when its hammering down HTL.
I actually suffer from sweaty hands during the summer also and on occasion i have been known to use 2 gloves if there particularly bad....Nothing wrong with that at all.....Its better the club staying straight than twisting in your hands is it not?

Played with a guy last sunday and he only wore a glove on his right hand (right handed player), he tanked me by 10 shots(easily done) but says he plays cack-handed

If you suffer from sweaty hands, try this stuff http://www.sports-insight.co.uk/index.php/content/news/no_sweat_lotion/ . I haven't managed to get hold of any yet but the demo video I saw looks like it might do the trick

Played at Hever in a storm that was pretty biblical. The guy I played with had Glenmuir Mac wet gloves (pr). He had no issues with the rain (I'll call it rain, but it was like rain, only worse).
The only issue with them that I could see was that they weren't warm. Once wet (and they need to be to work) your hands get pretty cold pretty quickly.

Marigolds. Pink ones. You know it makes sense.

But yellow matches my car so much better :p

I like yellow. Like the yellow that my Triby Tour shirt looked on my monitor when I chose it. When it turned up it was cream :o

This afternoon the forecast on Metcheck for Bearwood on Monday was 7 inches of rain in the 8 hours around the time I'll be playing, so I thought I'd ask about the gloves.

I've got a Footjoy Weathersof GTX (I think it's called) which I bought as an all weather glove, but have never worn it.

I soaked it and a grip tonight and had a few swings in the garden. The glove was really good (it feels rubbish when it's dry) but obviously my right hand grip was a bit iffy. I should be able to stop the club flying if it gets wet.

The only problem with it is that it's black :o

The forecast now has the rain moved to Tuesday so I'll keep my fingers crossed and just go with the FJ in case.

My glove of choice - I get sweaty hands in the summer and this is without a doubt the best glove for me - teh lightweight fabric lets the hand stay cool and dry.

I love this glove - and one lasts me about a year, I find the grip fantastic wet or dry.

I also have a RH foor joy as posted by Homer - find them great when the rain is torrental - at first its a bit strange - but when you hit a few crackers they are fantastic.

Only problem is the wet soggy cold hand as mentioned above.

Another vote for the FJ Weathersof GTX.

Absolutely fantastic gloves, wet or dry, but they do really come into their own in the wet.

I played in a torrential downpour last year and the glove kept unbelievable amounts of grip even when it was absolutely drenched.

+1 for the "Mac Wets". So grippy when it's lashing down that you have trouble getting the club back into your bag!! :D

As Murph said though, great in summer "showers" but definately not warm. Also, nigh on impossible to mark a card with them on!!

I never take an umbrella with me, I just stick on the Mac Wets and take whatever's coming.

Just a sidenote to this, after my experiment swinging a 7 iron with a wet grip and glove, I noticed when the grip had dried that it was a lot tackier than before.

I wonder if maybe the glove has a coating on it which helps grip in the wet, and some had rubbed off on the grip of my club.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new grip on my driver because it's started to lose it's grippiness a bit, so I wet the glove again and swung my driver in the garden for 5 minutes, and when that dried it was as good as a new grip.

Whether it will last or not I don't know.

Dont tell anyone else but - wash your grips with warm soapy water - and they will be like new. ;) :p

All your doing is removing a little layer of sweat/ grease and general crap that has built up on the grips from your hands.

I quite often give my grips a wipe with the wet end of my towel during a round, dry them with the other end of the towel and bingo, brand new grip. Enables you to keep a firm hold when you want to throw it after the ball you've just topped!! :D
