I've never been on twitter for this exact reason. Give idiots a global forum to show off to their mates and they will.

It's a good point you make. Social media like this is great for giving people a voice - yet sadly most people have naff all to really say!

From a creativity perspective it's great for getting one's work out there (Creative writing / Photography / Music etc) That's what was great about it in the early days. Sadly it's much more a place for abuse and people to just talk rubbish nowadays - which is a real shame.

Dufner isn't the greatest putter but he's got more bottle than Westwood. Tee to green he's as good as any (Dufner I mean)

I'm not sure what "more bottle" means. (Guts?) I've always thought Westwood was a pretty good guy. Did ya'll see the Feherty interview with him? -JB

I think when Jack Nicklaus says you need to be able to hole the 6 - 8 footers to contend in a major, then you would be a fool to ignore it.

I agree with this sentiment but there is a huge difference between being told this by Jack Nicklaus who has been there and the Twitterati who in all likelihood have never set foot on a golf course.

There is a saying that goes "If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all", it's just a shame the vast majority of people don't follow this mantra when online.

Perhaps you are right, maybe it's a very vocal minority. That doesn't detract from the fact that it's appalling behaviour to criticise someone you've never met direct to them.
