West Ham

LP - Do they not get the train to London on the day and then pick up the coach from there? There are always pictures of Man Utd at Crewe station. Makes more sense than coaching it the whole way. Frankly, this is no fault of Man Utd. They simply followed a routine they have been doing for years for games in London. It was shameful night for West Ham. Maybe the police got caught out by the fans blocking the coach but to blame Utd is nonsense (this point is general, not pointed at you by the way).

Gold proved what a muppet he is. His comments were stupid and embarrassing
.

now there's a change of tune! and an apology........ :D

A lot of teams that play in London at the weekends stay at the Marriott in Waltham Abbey the night before and then drive to the ground at a suitable time, even some PL footballers that have recently signed for clubs in the North & East of London stay there whilst they look for a new home. I have friends nearby and regular pop in there for a drink with them and see teams & players wandering around.

I can see why for an evening fixture you'd travel on the day, although due to the occasion I think it was ill thought out, however, I think many lessons could have been learn't from last night's scenes and those caught on camera throwing missiles etc will be rightly banned and even possibly prosecuted.

I recall when i was at secondary school, some teams stayed at The Black Prince Hotel in Bexley and would often use our school pitches for a training session as we were virtually next door and the school 1st team would get to train with them.

back on topic - a work colleague of mine was at the game and left the office at midday to go to the pub but apparently a lot of fans started on the falling down water at 9am so its not surprising that this happened.

Oh woah is us. Nasty fans throwing things at us. Whereas our fans are sweet little angels. Have we all seen the facebook posts where manure fans attacked the City bus a few years ago?
Not an excuse by the way. But really, did they (manure) think they would be given a heroes welcome????
