Played in a team match today, we started out dry my opponent played really well and I was 3 down at the turn then the rain started. I had a shot on the tenth but from a good position twice my club turned in my hands so lost the hole to go 4 down. Then the wet grips started to get to my opponent and I won the next 4 to get back to all square, she seems so demoralised I was just short in 2 on the next and she was 100 yds away having laid up, but stuck a great wedge to a couple of feet to half and stop the rot. 16th I couldnt hold my clubs and went one down. Still a shot on the 17th, We both struggled wit hour grips and eventually halved the hole with 8!!!!
She then played a shot from way out to a foot on the 18th to close the match out.

Everything I had on was soaking including my shirt under a fleece and a waterproof jacket.

Sounds like a good match. I have a sealer bag in my bag with a load old gloves for such occasions.

The worst thing is when you towel is soaked and you just cant get anything dry.

Actually worse still for me is when you get your cigarettes wet!!

I use the Glenmuir Macwets in the rain and they work great so no more worrying about the club slipping. Still hate getting all my kit wet though and the house this "summer" has been full of golf gear drying more often than I care to remember.

I actually dont wear a golf when playing, but I might have to think about getting wet weather ones.

I guess your saying you don't ware a glove in the wet... Eeek I would, there wet weather ones are so good.

I always wear a glove. Just try the pull test? with a glove on you can hold the club, as light as a feather and it will not slip/pull from your hand. Then try without, you have to grip fairly hard to stop it being pulled from your grip.

Photos or we don't believe you.
Ooops sorry wrong forum!

I carry a couple of spare gloves but I'm going to get a pair of wet weather gloves for the rest of the summer:thup:

Unlucky not to get the match back but sounds like you enjoyed it even with the weather.

If the forecast is for wet weather I take some old practice gloves in a sandwich bag and pack the wet weather ones in case it hoses it down. I can't play without a glove in the wet. I usually put a couple of small towels in as well to go under the brolly to dry hands and grips
