I think it is really refreshing to see the respect the players have for tiger (whether he deserves it or not) saying they want him back on the course.
For me Casey and poulter done the right thing they said they wanted to concentrate (rightly so)on their own games so did not pay attention to the statement so as poulter said he could not answer questions on it therefore forcing the interviewer to ask questions about his performance which along with casey, garcia and wilson was excellent.
I totally agree Screwback, Amongst all the golfing fans and reporters putting the boot in it's refreshing to see that there is a bit of understanding amongst his peers, maybe it's because only they know the pressures life on tour brings eh!
The media and the fans just want to see him crumble because it makes a good read in the papers and shows he is some what human. But the boys on tour still clearly respect him and as you say they know the pressures of tour life but in no way condone his actions off course.
Whatever his actions ON course (spitting, throwing clubs etc) the pros recognise the fact that he is the best but on top of that, everything they play for now (money, facilities etc) have come about on the back of the rise of Tiger. I think Casey and Poulter were sensible in keeping hteir distance while they are still in with a shout of winning but it'll be interesting when its over to hear Poulter as he's never short of an opinion
yep,it just seems to be the media pack that want to make his life hell! i think the rest of the world disaproove of his actions, but given time, will forget it. however, i feel it wont be as easy with the media....then again, remember kate moss anyone?
Biffa,it's not just Kate Moss, there has been a host of fallen stars over the years, all of those stories have ended up wrapping chips. Hounds need something to chase and get their teeth into, when they get it they just move on.There is always another Fox around the corner.
