It is now Monday afternoon and I am looking to see if any new threads have been started yet. I am in shock that no one has started the usual weekly debate about S&T and the new ball flight laws. Unless I have overlooked it somewhere on the site.

I am just wondering how many people got the S&T DVD's or books for Xmas and has started to look into it and make the changes. I for one do not see what this is all about. People have been swinging the golf club perfectly well for the last couple of hundred years, why is this all of a sudden the perfect way to swing?

It would be nice to know if anyone is finding it easy to implement and starting to see any benefits from it.

I'm very fond of a little slap and tickle. Mrs never has any issues with my scccchwing!

As for the golf swing, I'm still trying to find mine...it's been a year...a fun year!

Ha! Sudden? what exactly are the people who go for a lesson doing?

Who said it was the prefect way?

It is fairly easy to implement and yes I see a real benefit from it.

I am going down the range later if I stop sneezing and blowing my nose. I am going to attempt some of the principles of s&t after watching the video's over the last couple of days

the flying wedge element really stood out for me as I do hit a lot of thins or way behind the ball

Well someone had to start it...........;)

You should know me by now. I am not into all this new fandangled approach to golf, that comes across as nothing more than someone trying to make a name and sell a few books. I am open to learn about new things like the new ball fight laws. Once I looked into it more I understood it and what you had said started to make sense. But this S&T just does not make a lot of sense to me. So I am wanting to know how people get on with it and if it actually works.

I'm not on the tour, never will be. Golf for me has to be about finding a level that I'm happy with, I was never happy before but now I feel I have something viable, measurable and that isn't full of contradictions.

If you can get the club back to the ball and you are happy with a) your ball flight b) your scores then there's no need to change, but if you find you're chopping it around the course and it's not as much fun as you want it to be....what ya gonna do?

S&T has its merits and I dabbled with it about three years ago when James wandered down to Royal Ascot for a game and spent an hour showing me what its about. I had some initial success and then things went backwards. Had there been a pro that taught the method and could have solved the issues I might have stuck with it a little longer. As it was the middle of summer and the heart of the competition season I needed to get something functional to give me a chance to get the ball around.

Is it the best thing swing wise? Probably not but there again who is to say that one and two plane swings are right for some of those using them. It's worth looking at and if James ever gets this GM group session off the ground I bet 50p that some of the sceptics that turn up may be converted or at least see some merit in it. It isn't for me and I've found a guy teaching me a simpler one plane swing and I'm happy to stick with it and him
