Yes, well done McDowell, he seems like a nice chap.

What you reckon about Ross Fisher as one of the captains picks? He seems like a real talent + hits the ball miles with ease.

Yup, well done Graeme. Currently 9th on the euro money list.....about 120 better than a certain Justin Rose (who admittedly plays in the USA...77th?)......
Where were Justin and Padraig? would have liked to have seen them.

Harrington was winning the Irish PGA at the weekend . He used it for practice before next weeks Open Championship. Apparently , it's the same link's practice he used last year.

All depends really on who does/doesn't get there on merit.

But he certainly looks as though he has the right qualities.

Anyone else notice how much his swing resembles Sergio Garcia, Probably why his iron play is so strong.

I know a few local pro's that where playing in this tournament - Harrington was playing but only as a practice round.
From what I hear there were several pro's that NR'd due to lost balls - they did not have enough balls to play with.
Course was supposed to be fantastic but if you missed a fairway then reload. Certainly sounds like a good hard course to practice on.

McDowell has the potential to win big in the future. His iron play under pressure was excellent and he would be an excellent addition to the Ryder Cup squad. Khan will learn from yesterday but at least he booked his place at The Open.

Once again Loch Lomond was magnificent to watch on the telly.

Looks like MacDowell has booked his Ryder Cup spot after his victory in Scotland.

Harrington played in the Irish PGA Championship and won €10,000 for his troubles-however the event was played at the European Club in Wicklow which is a true test of links golf.

Being in Ireland the course suffered all four seasons in one day.

As an aside Adam Scott jokingly asked Harrington could he get into the Irish PGA Championship to get links practise.

Glad to see fellow Norn Iron man McDowell winning again. Must admit though, I got a bit worried when Aliss said at the beginning of the BBC coverage that he couldn't understand how McDowell was level for the day after 3 because he'd been spraying it all over the course. Fortunately he pulled it together after that.

The down side of the Irish PGA is that Harrington injured his wrist during the event and now isn't sure how fit he'll be for Thursday. :/

Muttlee Harringtons injury was caused at home whilst exercising after the Irish PGA-he was hit his driver off a weighted bag when he injured his wrist-exercise is used to strenghten the wrist.
