Hi Forum,

Recently been having a mare so have been changing my putter grip to try and find something that feels good but also works!

Tried right above left and didn't have any control, the claw worked but not for longer putts.

I ended up with a weird almost upside down broomhandle like grip left hand in a conventional position and right hand is full grip with thumb towards the butt end of the putter, right hand is massively dominant, keeps the putter straight and rolling loads in with it. Kills my back but need to get used to it!

Any one else recently experimented with grips?

Was messing around trying different stuff the other weekend & quickly dismissed right over left & claw etc, all just seemed alien, so really concentrated on having the same usual grip but exact same positioning of fingers each time (also I really wanted to make the stroke toe up on putter head but found heel up was slightly more consistent)

Of biggest benefit by far on having a consistent straight swing was concentrating on not moving my head to follow the ball until the ball had traveled around 3 feet after being hit, I just kept staring at the pre-strike point where the back of the ball had been and it had the most success on results on the mat

Been putting so poor recently, the other week I changed my grip halfway through a round and immediately putted better, stuck with it on Saturday and still seeing better result. The change is so minor as well - just shuffled my right hand down about half an inch or an inch maybe, separating the hands slightly. It feels like I have so much more control though. I think I was a bit wobbly on the backswing before, and this seems to have fixed that.

I have tried all sorts on the practise greens before, such as left hand lower and the claw type grips, but they all feel very unstable to me. Didn't like any of them.
