Weekend Frustration & Anger Thread

Well my driving was shocking on the 9 holes I played Friday. Didn't hit one fairway, in fact on one hole CVG was dead centre of the fairway and we estimated my ball to be about 90 odd yards to the right! Still got a par but that's not the point is it?
2 completely duffed drives, 1 ok but a little right, the rest fairly right except the "biggy"!!

Good these 910's aren't they ;)

Drove the 10th today, well when I say drove the 10th, I drove it 20yds through the back into the bunda, managed to par it with a scrambled pitch and 2 putts.
Also has a wedge 2nd shot into the par 5, both wind assisted but crikey they fly....
I'm taking it back t'mora, it goes too far :( :D

Played today - 34 points with a shocking short game (yes I know the linear method was suppose to sort it) but struck the ball well in a really strong wind. More October than May at times. Now why can't I chip?

Shot my pb 78 on Friday morning, however put a card in my hand and blew it! nr'd myself after my 63 on the front - pathetic!

Sadly I find myself posting on this thread and not the positive one I started yesterday.

I'm just back from a 4BBB comp where I partnered Homer. Homer won the competition last year partnered with HTL and I think he was hoping I would turn up with at least some of my recent form but sadly it didn't happen. My driver and 3-wood, normally one of my strengths, deserted me and I chopped it around the 1st six holes with all the poise and control of a roller-skating giraffe. Homer on the other hand was inspired, completing the 1st six holes in 1 over gross and we were 3 up on our h'cap (I say we only because it was a pairs comp but having my name on the scorecard was my only contribution to date)

On 7 I finally hit a straight drive and got a bit of luck as it cleared the ditch I was trying to lay up to courtesy of a bridge. Electing not to take a drop as I had a good lie but uneven stance I blocked my approach onto the 8th tee but got up and down for par and my 1st contribution. Further pars on 8 and 9 saw us out in 22 points and well in contention.

The back nine started with a par for Homer but we both blobbed 11, Homer with a lost ball although I'm not sure how and me inexplicably taking 5 to get down from the greenside bunker. 2 pts from Homer on 12 and a pair of pars on 13 steadied the ship. I lipped out my par putt on 14 and managed to somehow only make par on the par 5 15th despite only having a 7i for my second shot after crushing a wind assisted 300+ yd drive. Homer bogeyed 16, we both bogeyed 17 and Homer's 6 for 2 on the last made my par putt irrelevant and saw us finish with 37 pts, 7 off the pace.

Mid table obscurity is the least Homer deserved, he finally turned some of his good ball striking into good scoring but I just didn't turn up for long enough to give us any chance. When it's as windy as it was you have to hit the ball a lot better than I did to stand a chance which given the way I've played of late is a huge dissapointment and a bit of a shock to the system.

Oh well, there's always next week.

I played a bounce round saturday evening and played shite to put it plainly....
Played in a 4BBB this morning and also had some shockers....Im blaming my shoulder as for the past week iv been digging my back yard getting it ready for a lawn and i pulled something in it last tuesday evening and its still not right :(.....

Still though its only my 6th round or so with my Ping i10's and im starting to settle into them quite nicely....The distance control with them is far better than my old Cobra S2's which is giving me a better confidence standing over the ball....Also im able to hit that 4 iron too...Another bonus....

I know the area's that are costing me shots so in a way it should be easy to fix but im struggling with it.....It's off the Tee on some holes that is crucifying me.....

Im trying to take the positive's though. :D

Worst ever round at Blackmoor yesterday, 94, only a solid finish kept me below 3 figures. What a great time of the year to completely lose my game.

Oops, I did it again!!

Midweek medal. 6 over through 16 and finished double (on SI16) and then 9 on the par 4 last. Is there even a word for a 9 on a par 4? Quintuple bogey :D

I WILL get to single figures eventually. :o
