I'm on the hunt for a new wedge. I currently have a Callaway X-Tour wedge, along with the standard PW and SW in my iron set.

Getting new irons so I'm loosing the SW ( i use my X-tour as my sand wedge anyway).

Whats the general consensus on having wedges from 2 different manufacturers. I'm not bothered about the "look of my bag" with 2 different makes of wedge, I'm more meaning the feel of the wedge being different, would this cause a huge problem?

I'm not really wanting to pay £80 for a Callaway wedge (not really got the loft/bounce combo I'm wanting anyway) when i could get a wedge as good for less.

What is your budget and what loft/bounce combo are you looking for?

I love my MD Signature wedges (£40ish) but these are very low bounce so might be tricky to hit if you don't have a very flat swing.

Have a look at the Norman Drew (Irish legendary bloke associated with my very own club)Wedges, they have a little less than the usual bounce, around degrees if I remember rightly. My 50degree spins like a demon and is very predictable for short pitches as it is with full shots.
For the money, you wont find anything like it still wrapped in plastic.

No problem. No vanity round here! :D

My Vokey SW is light and whippy, my TM Satin GW, heavy and un-subtle. I use the GW around the greens and from deep lies.....far better for my game.

As long as you can hit them and have a good feel, no problem. They have near identical shafts b.t.w. it's the swing weight (or something) that gives a different feel.

I love them and wouldn't want a matching pair, the difference in playing style help me choose the shot for the situation.

Went for a MD Norman Drew 54 degree wedge.

Scottish Golf Centre has 20% off all woods and wedges (plus other stuff) and got it for £39.99!!
