I have just invested in a new set of irons (Cobra Amps) which I am very excited about as (having only taken up the game 18 months or so ago) I have only used 2nd hand clubs so this is my first new set!

My last set were Callaway X22 and they came with PW (45
°), AW (51°) and SW (56°). This new set is only 4I-PW with the PW being 44°. I have had a look and I can pick up a Cobra Amp SW (54°) however I have also seen that AG are doing 2 x Callaway X Series Jaws wedges for £120.00 per pair. I was thinking of just getting a 52° and 56° (SW) to complete my iron set.

I was just wondering though, is the gap too big between 44
° and 52° or for someone at my level (21 handicap) does it really not make that much difference? I should add that I have tried friends lob wedges (60°) and I cannot hit them to save my life!

I'd say it depends on your playIng ability , personally I would play a few rounds and take it from there.........

..... Unless Of course you have a cash stash to burn ;)

I guess the issue is that this set doesn't have an SW with it so I'm going to have to splash the cash whatever to a certain degree. It's just whether I invest in the actual Cobra SW or take advantage of the AG Callaway wedge offer.

Suggest you see if you can find an amp SW to have a look at and see if it suits your eye or whether you prefer a couple of specialist wedges.
Personal choice really I have matching gap wedge but different SW enjoy the new shineys anyway!
