Anyone used them ?
Online quote is a bit more than I've been offered trade in so wondering what are the pitfalls and what do I expect if I go there.

TIA.

FiL used them, as has a very cautious friend. Both very happy, both found it very simple. They were waiting for a catch but there was none.

If your car has bumps and chips then they will reduce the quote once seen but in the case of my FiL they did not do this and the price paid was the one originally quoted.

If you are not happy with the quote once there then just walk away, I don't think they go down the pressure sales route. It is a take it or leave it job.

Looked at never used

One car they would not quote on without me taking it to a dealer to price up.
A second was well below the trade in value but I kept it and sold privately as I could afford to buy the new car car without trade in and got 25% more than the trade in price.

The one thing is that I have heard is that you have to be totally upfront about any obvious faults as the online quote is only a guideline.

One of the upsides, which they advertise, not having a trade in puts you in a much better place to negotiate the price for a new car. My last new car included a trade in (good price) but I got absolutely no deal on the new car compared to the previous purchase from the same dealer.

Wife and youngest daughter have used them. Totally pressure free and both got good prices compared to what was being offered elsewhere.

They are decent I think if you know what to expect from them. You will get more for your car if you sell privately but it removes all the hassle and worry of something going wrong.

I’d happily sell my motor for £500 less if I knew I wouldn’t get any hassle.

We used them to sell my Father in Law's car which had quite a few scrapes on it. They actually had an office in Glasgow so we booked an appointment and they gave us a price there and then. The price they gave us was reasonable and what we expected. Pressure and hassle free. (y)

We sold to them once a couple of years ago, were given a quote, they knocked a fair bit off when they inspected the car which I disagreed with. I turned their offer down, the manager stepped in and offered to meet in the middle so we did. Easy enough transaction

I used them once - old 09 reg VW Fox with a few minor bumps and scrapes but overall a good little car. Was quoted £800 but after the guy went round deducting for every little mark (literally a bumper scrape 1cm square) my realigned quotation was £290. Decided to sell to a friend's daughter for £500.

Guess it works with cars that are pristine and FSH, but they'll look for any opportunity to knock the price down and rely on the 'well your here now' line to complete the transaction.

Used them about 3 years ago when I got rid of my last car (a 12year old Toyota Avensis - so not worth a lot). Just be very honest with your rating of the car's condition. In my case, they offered about £50 less than the online quote. But totally hassle free - and pretty quick if/when you take it to them. Could probably have got a couple of hundred quid more through a private sale - but the ease of geting shot of the car via WBAC was defo' more than worth that.

i sold an old E63 AMG to them - not an easy thing to value. They quoted near 13k and i got a couple of hundred knowcked off for some small blemishes even though the car was in exceptional condition. But the good thing is they do not look at mechanicals etc. My car needed new fromt disk at over 2k, a service was iminent and a couple of other things i can't remember - so i was happy. The car still made them about 900 when sold at BCA the next week

My girlfriend took her immaculate A1 to them, they tried to downgrade the quote pointing out blemishes that didn't exist. She told them to shove it and sold the car privately for £1400 more than they offered.

Are you sure? I think there may have been some paint erosion from the wind after our high speed thrash up the M40 :ROFLMAO:

Well.went to my appointment this morning, but the computer was down so nothing happened.
Had a chat with him off the books and said I'd be unlikely to be offered the full quote and once you take off the admin and bank transfer charges Is be lucky to get another 50quid above trade in offer so said told.him I wouldn't be rebooking a valuation.
