How the hell is the field selected for this pish?

Paul Lawrie is ranked higher than 14 of the 24 players yet didn't qualify for it?

confused.com!

Just a shame England can't sustain tour events any more and we're subjected to crap like this weeks tournament.

Chap from work is going to Bulgaria tomorrow to play, and also to watch the Matchplay. He is playing the Matchplay course next week, so interesting to hear what he thinks of it. Must admit it looks stunning, and the green fees are about £70.

The field is pretty poor on the whole and doesn't match the venue.

Posted in the other thread about the course its stunning, been to Bulgaria twice last year managed to drive up to the course last year and got a look around. It really is a stunning location and beautiful course, have persuaded HID to allow me some golf time on holiday next year and going to play it as we're going back to Bulgaria again really can't recommend the place highly enough as a destination

Only £70?! That is seriously good value

Everything in Bulgaria is massive VFM, last year we took my 2 kids with us and ate out everynight. Every night a 2 course meal each for the kids with a couple drinks each, 2 courses for me & HID bottle wine and coffees and the most expensive night out came to £14!

Went to watch football in bar one night on my own with a couple we met out there as HID hates footy, I got through two 4 pints jugs of cocktails another jug of lager and finished the night with a couple of brandy's and it pounds sterling I spent a grand total of £12.50 i

Haha sounds great! Where abouts in Bulgaria is it? Looking for a holiday destination for next year to take the other half

On another note...it isnt a great field is it! Stenson v Molinari looks a good match up but apart from that there isnt much else. Is this the only Tour competition on this weekend?

Depends what your looking for in a destination if you want to look in at Tracian Cliffs and old town type things you may want to try Golden Sand which is relatively near Varna lots to see and do.

If you want something more lively go to Sunny Beach which is nearer Borgas, plenty of things to do in the evenings but certainly more lively if you want old town viewings here you get a bus to Nessebar old town and sit in restaurants built high into the cliff side and look out over the black sea for miles.

I love the country myself plan to try and go there every other year and alternate between the resorts.

Sounds nice! We would want somewhere nice and where we can go out for a drink at night without seeing groups of young lads on a "mental lads holiday". Bulgaria could be ideal. Could even take the clubs!
