Volvo Matchplay - boo!

We lost today at Northamptonshire County GC. Met a pair on top form and they were gross par as a better ball and ran out comfortable winners 4&3. Really nice pair of chaps and a lovely course so all in all not feeling too disappointed. I was 1 under handicap after the 18 holes so played very well as it is a tougher course than ours and playing extra long due to the soggy ground. Sorry to let Team GM down and hoping some others make it through this round.

Thanks guys. Much tougher course than we play for sure and one opponent joined from Collingtree and has gone up 2 shots due to the difficulty.

Tis true they won it - perhaps another reason I don't feel so bad.

unlucky Amanda, but take heart with the fact you played under your handicap, so on the day they won it as opposed to you having an off day. There's always next year!

unlucky Amanda, a defeat is never nice but an easier pill to swallow when you have played well and just lost to a better pair.

yes it is the Colt designed one Foxholer, played in for the first time last year in a knockout comp like this and loved every minute of it, challenging course, tough in places but im told always in good condition

That's the Volvo. Rick and I have played well (ok, this year he did), two years running, and we have been tanked. Last year we were gross two over, this year three over, and lost on 17 both times.

Glad you played well, but I get the impression that to proceed you need to be way better than good.
