Volvik balls

amazing that one tour player uses them and the sheep follow.

Pretty sad comment, surprised you haven't called those that don't like them Snowflakes yet either.

It's a new product, people like to try new things, I mean it's not the end of the world is it really.

Remember don't be a snowflake with that criticism you are getting but I am sure some sheep will be around to support you if you are feeling like a snowflake.

how many times can you say snowflake in a post? what are you on about!!!

The sheep follow? A new product comes to market, and some people try it is sheep following?

they've been on the market for a while but people are only interested because a high level player has been paid to use them. if bubba didn't use them this thread wouldn't exist

Along with this Golf Monthly article:

http://www.golf-monthly.co.uk/gear/gear-news/volvik-balls-now-available-in-uk-126161

there are plenty of pages discussing the launch of the Volvik golf ball here in the UK in March 2017.

So no, they have not been around for a while, they have been on the market for a 1 month or 2.

And if a tour pro using a ball is enough to call people "sheep", I expect your bag does not have any Taylormade, Callaway, Titleist, Nike, Cobra, Adams, Cleveland, Wilson Staff, Yonex or any other brand used by a tour pro?

Only really going into some pro shops over the last couple of weeks , online sales only started middle of March Not really been on the UK market for a while

And in regards people only interested because a high profile player uses them I don't recall many high level players using Vice balls yet they seem to be popular so not sure your theory

Saw a selection of these in an American Golf store last week at the range where I have my lessons

Couple of the colours look like they should be pretty easy to track and find, but there were others that I wasn't keen on

I won't be trying them as I like what I currently use, but if they perform for people then who are we to argue against them

Picked up a sleeve of these in vivid yellow yesterday to give them a try. Was a bit sceptical and wasn't sure at first touch, the ball has an odd feel to it, probably due to the matt finish. Played in quite tough conditions, very windy and some really snaggy rough. They seemed to fly quite well distance wise off the tee, but got a lot of drift in the wind, probably due to my ball striking. They didn't seem to sit down too quickly chipping in to the green from full shots mid fairway, at least not on the greens I was playing, jury still out on that. I struggled chipping out of some of the short rough around the greens, so couldn't judge anything there. On the plus side, I thought they were actually quite nice to putt, very nice distance control. The yellow colour is better than the standard yellow balls available, it stands out a mile on the fairway and in the rough, especially in the bright sunlight. I did lose one on the fifth hitting into the wind with a bit of draw, just lifted up and drifted about 40 yds left over the trees and out of the course.... I didn't think it was a bad ball but not sure that my round yesterday was good enough to form any real conclusions. Still got two left in the bag, think they are good enough to play again but unless they perform better around the greens at my own track, I'll probably revert back to the Wilson DX3 urethane once they've gone.
