Vilamoura Golf Courses/Accommodation?

Just wondering if anyone has any experiences good or bad with golf holidays in Vilamoura and if so any recommendations for courses or accommodation?

Try Oceanico, they have apartment complexes and run around 7 courses in the region.

One note of caution, take a handicap certificate with you. Vilamura Old Course is the only course I have ever needed to produce a valid handicap cert. and I've playead a lot of prestige courses in my time. (Incidentally the Old Course is superb.)

Thanks so far guys!, I had been looking at some packages for the Oceanico courses. Just wondering if any of you had any issues with security while in Vilamoura. Have heard one or two reports of cars being broken into?

We stayed at Hotel Villa Gale Marina a few years ago...very nice hotel with a golf booking service within the hotel. There are 7 courses within a 10 minute drive so loads of choice. Unfortunatley I didn't play any golf as HID was with me...not much to do at night though other than walk around the marina which is nice but not every night.

Stayed at the Dom Pedro hotel, nice, reasonable and with a free shuttle service to courses.
