Just got outta bed and the bloody rooms spinning. 88% sure its vertigo. Guess who is in his way to Heathrow in a couple of hours.

guess who isnt going to Heathrow in a couple of hours . seriously Tashy if it is vertigo you really wont be going anywhere soon ,and you wouldnt be on here typing . i would say you are not having a vertigo attack but something else ,what that is i dont know ,but going on my personal experience of vertigo i couldnt do anything at all but lay on the bed and shut my eyes as anything else was impossible.
i hope for your sake that your dizziness isnt anything serious mate.

Done a couple of exercises and been on the phone to the chemist who I will see within an hour. Advised something that Missis T suggested ( active ingredient in travel sickness which GP would prescribe ). Don't suffer sickness or headaches but am not 100%. Looks like Missis T is driving.

take care Tashy, none of us are getting any younger mate ,and things start to go wrong totally unexpectedly the older we get.
ps........ dont be a back seat driver to mrs Tashy lol;)

I remember you posting regularly at the time and how badly it affected you and your golf. Has it gone completely now? What are the chances of it comeing back?

It went eventually and, touch wood, not returned at all, but as it came from nowhere I'm never complacent enough to think it'll never return - thanks for asking 👍

Sorry if it's a daft question but a) do the doctors know what brought it on and b) are there any kind of triggers or warning signs to look for going forward

I had it last Christmas - Christmas Eve, day and Boxing day. Took to my bed as I thought I couldn't fall any further ...... Came out of nowhere although, in retrospect, felt a bit dizzy picking the ball out of the hole/teeing up and the like a few days before.

Epley Manoeuvre is the answer (if it is actually vertigo). Had a session at the docs and it worked a treat. Had a recurrence a few weeks ago and successfully treated myself. If you do it right, it's a very strange feeling. Youtube has plenty of videos on it. Just be prepared for your eyes to have a mind of their own and hold on to those bed sheets. Anti nausea pills might also help when you do it.

For all the nonsense that gets written on here at times there are also threads like this where people are just plain helpful and nice. I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy .

Hope you get to enjoy your holiday Tashy.
