How are you and HID going to spend the evening?
Do you organise everything?
Or does he/she?
Or dont you bother?
Cards, chocolates, a nice meal.....they've even got us buying Valentine gifts now

Taking the whole day off. to play the open @ Kirkistown Castle Links :)

should be good.

probly see the boss later on at home and be told to take her out for something to eat. no bother. :)

I booked my golf lesson for next week and they said "it's Valentines Day" - oops !

HID is working though so will be cards and choccies usually and he is good at buying flowers

Have a table booked for 7.30.... she not great at the snooker but sure il bring her along any way :)

Just kidding new lady forumites ,, proper table booked for 7.30 5 course meal with Champagne (i didnt choose the drink its part of the package , im not that psh ha )

As our oldest son is off to Australia for a year on the 14th, I will probably spend the evening telling the wife he will be ok and having her cry on my shoulder.

Imagine him going all that way just to avoid the embarrassment of not getting any cards:rolleyes:

Never go out for a meal on V.Day - absolute rip off.

Prefer to cook my wife a 3-course meal with champers and a nice bottle of wine. I enjoy cooking when I get an opportunity and think this is more personal as I plan the menu, buy the ingredients and do the cooking.

Kids are at the grandparents, ding dong:thup:

Just an exchange of card and choccy's. Its our 37th wedding anniversary the week after and I was thinking of getting a younger man and some jump leads and make it a spacial occasion for her.

We both hate the idea of being in a restaurant on a themed Valentines night, so we'll do the usual for a treat on a "school night". Fish & Chips, bottle of champagne and a DVD.

Few days later its off to Michel Roux's new restaurant for the 7-course tasting menu and stop over in the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair.... thank you Travel Zoo! :whoo:

We have a nice meal indoors with our 3 daughters, all get dressed up, champagne(fizzy grape juice for them) candles etc. something we have always done!

Card, chocs etc. always buy her a nice/naughty underwear set....... and it always sits in her wardrobe gathering dust, with the other 20 odd I have bought!!

My wife and I do not do anything on Valentines Day and haven't valued it for many years. We have been married for 20 years this year and say that we love each other every day, often go out for a meal together alone, I often buy her impromptu gifts flowers etc.

What is it that's romantic about going out for a meal on a day when every restaurant will be full, so not intimate. Giving each other a card to say I Love You, or a gift when prices are raised for the commercial benefit.

IMO, the day exists primarily for men to make an effort and women to feel special, one day a year with forced token gestures.

Jeeezzz lighten up!!!!....1 day just a bit of fun!

i hate valentines day with a passion!
why should be be told what day to take mrs out for a meal or buy her flowers? or be all romantic?

luckily this year me and mrs are cost saving for the big day so just agreed a card is the only thing to be spent this year.
did go asda for a 7p smart price one for a joke but they had sold out

Nowt!!!

Perhaps have a bottle of Cava but no cards, etc.

Isn't Valentine's Day all about telling those that don't know that you love them? I'd hope my Wife would know that I love her.
