Using 4 iron shaft in a 3 iron

I was wondering if i can just put a spare 4 iron shaft i have in a 3 iron and then if needed lengthen the shaft with an insert ?

I mave just bought a MP68 3 iron with a NS pro shaft in it (which my daughter can use the shaft out of it) but i want to put a KBS shaft in the MP68 head. i have a KBS 4 iron shaft sitting at home that has been pulled.

Dont see any reason why not. (as long as the tip will fit in the head)
It's only half an inch difference
