US PGA 2025 Quail Hollow

Looking at some of the videos - my god it’s going to be wet and soft

Weather should be ok over the four days but whoever wins is going to have to hit it long and accurate- bit like what congressional was

Long, wet & soft…..surely that plays into McIlroy’s hands like nothing else

Interesting You Tube video with him and Matt Fryatt, he basically changes set up to achieve a bomb, stinger or mid flight fairway finder, rather than any swing change. The change in his tee height between shots is eye opening. Worth a watch.

He did a clinic at Ganton a few weeks back before a Yorkshire Am's v Pro's matchplay event - it was set up and hosted by Chris Hanson and he had Marco on the range explaining how he achieves max distance - then he called one of the local amateur lads over who hit it further - mind blowing power.

I'd love to see Marco do well this weekend, he seems like a really likeable sort of bloke, but in reality, anything above the cut line he'll take as a positive I reckon,

It is interesting, but I don't think I would get much out of teeing it low and hitting 1 degree down with my 88mph swing. 😂

Not sure Jon Rahm and Matt Fitzpatrick will be happy playing with Cantlay, both are much faster players.
Pace will probably be terrible anyway with 156 players....

I can safely predict that the 9th alternate won't win it! Was recalling J Daly's win. Some story.

Not especially a fan of him as a player or man, but he had some talent and I liked the way he just did it his way that week, against the perceived wisdom of that time.

I don't know why I just have zero interest in it. Always seems like a regular pga event to me. I might watch Sunday night if it looks interesting. Mickey mouse major.
Appreciate it's being played on a course that hosts regular PGAT events, but surely the field is a bit different to a regular PGAT event.
