update - lost balls and first round

Well done! Both on the score and the single lost ball.

Pretty consistant scoring, no 'disasters', in fact not a single double digit hole. Bit of a wobble in the middle of the back 9 is all.

See it's easy this game hey? ;)

Very well done, an impressive first round.

One thing, check the formula on the score card. I don't think the course really is 9000+ yards long ;-)

Keep going about it like this and you'll see them scores tumble.

Cheers. Good point re. the formula on Excel... scoring 123 on a 9k course would be something... :-)

Good point, no disasters, although I would classify a 9 on a par 4 as near disastrous, but I probably expect too much of myself too early on.

I got tired in the middle of the back nine and lost concentration, although it picked up on the home run. Interesting to experience the impact momentum has on one's game going from hole to hole.

Cheers.

This is usually my problem.

I will be stocking my bag with plenty of water and snacks on Saturday as I think (hope) we're doing all 27 holes of Belton Park and I want to do them justice!

Congrats on the 1st round! doesn't look too bad at all.

Well done particularly the one ball thing (didn't you hit the others far enough). Keep it going though and you'll smash 100 in no time. Take plenty of fluid ideally water and some fruit and avoid sugary drinks and snacks to keep your energy levels up. Make sure you drink a little and often (every hole if you can)

Thanks :)

I didn't put many in the super thick rough, and the ones I did were found reasonably quickly by my experienced rough-trawling-ball-finding playing partners. The one I lost went out of bounds over a tree...

Ironically, I think when I do get up to hitting the balls further and being bold in attacking the greens, I suspect I will lose more golf balls. The one I did lose was on a hole when I was racking up a big score just duffing shots down the fairway and decided to attack the flag despite the green being raised with OOB very close behind it and the to the side! A conservative shot like the other holes would have prob meant no lost ball and the same score at least.

My mate also advised against sugary drinks as he thought they gave you an instant boost but the effects wore off and made you more tired after a while. Fruit is a good suggestion.

Cheers.

Good stuff on the score mate - nice to get one on the board.

I started playing properly about a year ago and getting used to playing 18 holes over 9 takes a while, fatigue both mental and physical!

Stick at it though and the scores will come tumbling down - I'm looking to break 90 as my next target.
