Steve you have lost me, easily done. I was just laughing at a one word reply that then had to be edited by a mod. I assume the original was even more helpful than 'rubbish'. :smirk:

Notice how the other two that corrected me did it in a different manner? More polite?
Might be a local rule at a particular club - ie Club Comps/Matches have precedence but it's not in the book as a general ettiquette rule.
Makes my blood boil too - "can't let you through, we're playing a Match"
I was playing a round at my course several weeks ago, I was on my own (as per usual), when out of nowhere, an elderly gentleman asked if he could join me for a few holes. We played together for the remaining 10 holes. This guy was very polite, very funny and very respectful. Naturally I assumed that he was a newer member looking to meet a few people. When we got back to the clubhouse, we had a quick drink, at which point I found out that he was the club president. He never made any effort to be the "big I am".. Now that is what I call manners. Im playing with him again in a few weeks...
Supreme arrogance.
Don't care who they are.
A club that lets people behave like that wouldn't get my business

I think you mistook my one word answer as having a dig at you. It wasn't. It was that the thing of a single player having no rights on a course is rubbish (I had wrote bollocks but thought that it might come across wrongly) apologies if you took it the wrong way.
