Dad’s in a care home and I look after his admin. I insure his unoccupied house through Adrian Flux. It was £320 this year.

Unoccupied can be more expensive and have restrictions on cover or requirements like a 2 weekly property check. Loft lid open in the winter or heating on a certain temp, make sure you check the info for that stuff. Short term policies normally do not offer a return premium if the property is sold while annual ones do so worth thinking about if you are selling up at some point.

You can cover buildings and contents but not normally valuables, fine Art or anything expensive.

List of Companies that do unoccupied that I have had dealings with, Vasek are probably the most competitive and you can do on there website

Vasek
Plum
Midas
Adrian Flux
