well,

Bought a cobra cart bag before christmas, been using it for about a month as there is a trolly ban on electric trollies over the winter at our place. It has done less than 20 rounds, and went to get it out of the car tonight and the grip strap tore!
I text the guy I bought it off at the golf club, as it was from the pro shop, and was told that nowt they can do, as they no longer have an account with cobra, so I am furious, he advised i take it nevada bobs for them to send to cobra...

My point, I never bought it from nevada bob!!

So, do I go down and have a whinge, or do I just head to bobs and hope they sort it for me?

Thanks for listening ;)

Pro's problem.
The bag will have a guarantee and it's up to him to do something about it.
And not having an account with Cobra is no excuse.
Chuck it back at him.

I know what you mean, but it looks like you have eveything in your favour here and it's worth doing. NB's may just turn round and say " well you didn't buy it from us so it's not our problem Guv."
I hate people/organisations that don't take responsibility for their screw-ups.

Your purchase contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer. The Sale of Goods Act gives you the right to return it to the retailer if the item is not of merchanisable quality, and if something designed to last several years breaks after a reasonable short term non-abused usage then its not of merchanisable quality. If the pro wont accept it back go to small claims court, print off the forms, complete them, and show them to the pro that you are prepared to take it further. He'll probably give return your money.

If your Pro insists that he can't help you and you don't want to cause a big fuss by going the route mentioned above, then you could always try contacting Cobra Golf directly and asking them to help you?? Worth a shot at the very least!

I've just bought the new Cobra stand bag and haven't hit the course with it yet, should I start preying that it doesn't fall apart?!

Mate of mine has had a set of Cobra irons for the past 2 years and bought a matching Cobra bag for them at the same time. His bag is like new. I don't think you've got anything to worry about.

I've had two Cobra cart bags, and both have come apart. The first one was inside the warranty period, the padding around the 14 way dividers started coming apart, basically because the club grips always seem to snag it and pull it through every time you take the clubs out, i.e. the gaps are too small. It was replaced under warranty after about 6 months, but they didn't have any of the same colour left, so I had to make do with a slightly different bag. I can live with that. Another 6 months in and the replacement was in an even worse way. It was then out of warranty so made do with wrapping gaffer tape around all the torn fabric. Since then my cart has broken, so I've now gone back to carrying with a stand bag that only has a 6 way divider, much easier to manoeuvre clubs in and out of the bag.....

how was the second bag out of warranty after 6 months? it doesn't start from when you bought the first but from when you got the replacement - 12 months on each.

as to the OP, if you want anything done you may have to force the issue with the pro; Cobra could send you back to him, and frankly he doesn't sound much of a mate if he tells you 'your problem, I don't sell them anymore'.

I got a cobra cart bag around this time last year and since then the strap above the ball pouch is after ripping off and both zip's either side of the bag have broken since. I'm not a happy camper with it cos it was handy to use the strap taking the bag out of the boot. Have you had any joy with getting a new bag?

I might be onto a winner here so if mine is still under warranty, I do like the look of the new Titleist cart bag :p
