Unable to save avatar

Tried uploading and linking to an avatar but both times I get the error 'This GIF image has the incorrect file extension.'

Am I doing something wrong?

As in file size or dimensions? Both are pretty small and I've used it fine on other forums!

My avatar is 2.6kb when I tried to use a bigger one it would not load

Yeh had to reduce it very very small!
