UK Troops close Ops in Afghan

i know it will be debated for years to come if it was right to go in but i know from my own personal experiences over there that a lot of good work has been done by the British Forces

I hope that good work is now built upon by Afghan people and a better safer country flourishes - so much potential in the country and the locals are very friendly humble people who want to work hard to make a life for themselves without being dictated too

The memories of the fallen will never be forgotten and the efforts of the British Military will never be forgotten

Sadly I do not share your optimism. Whilst I fully support our troops and admire their bravery I fear it will all prove to be a tragic waste of many lives and much money.
Watching a Panorama report on Afghanistan last week it already looks worrying. They report large areas of the country are controlled/under the influence of the Taliban, a school they visited was full of BOYS only and no girls.
Afghanistan is ripe for Islamic State to take a hold. It is reported that the Afghan Army have numerous soldiers who are unreliable.
In my opinion various senior military officials are full of spin on how the Afghan Army will be able to maintain control.
We should NEVER have entered Iraq and Afghanistan it has been a huge cost of innocent lives and an almighty waste of money.
