I'm assuming there has to be a film of this incredible story.
Who will play Tyson though? 6ft 9" machine in the acting trade?

Any ideas?

You have to hope Tom Cruise doesn't buy the film rights. Jack Reacher all over again

In reality he doesn't have to be 6ft 9" as camera trickery, angles etc can add inches. A broad 6ft2" bloke could pull it off as long as they look rough and ready. Saying that, not sure what Brit fits that category so I am still not any use to you.

Very true LT.

Tom Cruise! Please Lord no!

True but I’m just sick of the love in because he’s used mental health as a vehicle to improve his public image.
I don't really follow boxing, avoid pre boxing hype like the plague so whilst I know Fury has been a bad boy I am not fully up to speed nor want to be. Do you think his views have not changed from his past behaviour? Could he have seen the error of his ways or do you think it is just pr?

I think it’s very much a massive PR machine because that’s what boxing is now. Do I think he’s had mental health problems? I’m sure he has and I wish him all the best with those but the other views he has espoused in the past weren’t said as an incredibly young, naive man. They’re reasonably recent and the drugs ban is damning from a sporting point of view.

Kellfire is certainly not a fan.
For the record, I couldn't bare the man and would class myself as a good judge of character. I've since had a complete turnaround and it's clear to see that he's a victim of mental health.
He hasn't got over it, nor would I say he used to have it. He's always had it and always will.
Then again, I could have it all wrong.

Either way, the story is incredible and inspiring and you surely can't argue with that?

“Sexist, homophobic cheat wins fights”

I’m one of those who thinks drug cheats should be banned for life.

Me too actually. It's not as cut and dry as other drugs cheat stories though as far as I've seen.
I don't know, you're maybe right.

The latest series on him has been very very good. Walk in his shoes then judge him. Watch the series then judge him.

To the original question....don't know or care really, I wouldnt be interested in watching it.:)

It may just be me, but if I had as little as that to contribute to a thread, I wouldn't bother.
Still, thanks for your useful feedback (y)

Exactly. I rarely have a turnaround on somebody but his case is genuine. An extremely likeable bloke who like us all, will continue to make mistakes as that's what happens in life.
Even taking out of it if you like him or not, the sporting story is incredibly inspiring and I can't think of many like it. Putting the personal things into it makes it a blockbuster.

You asked a question, I gave you an answer. I can’t help it if I’m ambivalent to him or any film about him.

That's fine. No offence taken.

Not really answer to the question of who might play him in a film though is it. It's not like I asked does anybody care about him or interested in a film about him.

Do you start every conversation by demanding an incredibly narrow topic and lambast any deviation even when it remains broadly on topic?

There’s no getting away from the fact that Fury is a drug cheat, testing positive for recreational AND performance enhancing drugs. He tried to explain the increased nandrolone readings being down to eating uncastrated wild boar, so hasn’t ever owned the situation. He has also made anti-Semitic, homophobic and sexist comments. A lot of those comments and views will come from his background and upbringing. Which doesn’t excuse him in my opinion.

However, his story is amazing and would make a great film. No idea who would play him, but I’d watch the film.
