Hi,

I'm in my first year of golf club membership so still learning my way around the rules that govern competitions.

Am I allowed to play a singles KO match (match play) if I've already played a stroke play event on the same course in the same day? My reading of rule 7.1 suggests that I am because on-course practise is permitted before a match play competition.

However, what if the rounds were reversed? Would playing a competitive match play round in the morning prevent me from entering a stroke play competition in the afternoon (same day, same course)?

Thanks,
Shep

You're OK as long as you play the stroke play event first. But you are not allowed to play a stroke play comp if you have already played on the course that day.

Note: The Committee may, in the conditions of a competition (Rule 33-1), prohibit practice on the competition course on any day of a match-play competition or permit practice on the competition course or part of the course (Rule 33-2c) on any day of or between rounds of a stroke-play competition.
