Out on the course recently I've been getting a few aches & pains (back and knees mainly) and, concentration has never been my strong point - apparently these bands are supposed to help with both.

Any wearers out there?

I'm just wondering if they're actually any good or am I getting taken in by the marketing mumbo-jumbo!?

I tried one out, and it was mumbo jumbo.

On the other hand, others swear by them.

Whilst being sceptical about these things, may be some people react to them differently, and are more effected by magnetics than others.

For me, waste of money that could have been spent on beer.

Its all about what you think of them. Personally im pretty superstitious, so i wear them for every competition, never in practice. Ive got the wrist ones..

The "science" behind these is nonsense, just like then homeopathy or reflexology.

I await the anecdotes about how they have revived the injured golfer and caused putts to drop like crazy.

All I can say is that I had a very painful shoulder, put my trion z band on and the pain has gone. I take the band off and the pain comes back. Gulible, all in the head??? Maybe but it seems to work for me.

I do have a wrist band one. I was also surprised at the number of forumers wearing them at the RA Spring meet.

It works as well as my 'pulling pants' did! :(

my pulling pants are top notch as I seem to pull every shot I hit whilst wearing them :)

my mate swears by his and is now on his second

mine, I'm not sure about. I suffer from tendonitis and while I 'know' it can't possibly cure it there are times when I think it's easier.

so you pays your money,

I have one and I actually find it helps me sleep at night if I wear it but not so sure aboutit helping my aches and pains. I've had it a year and I not overly convinced aprt from the relaxtion part. Probably wouldn't get another

these things actually do work! i do technology at school and found out that basically the magnets in the band affect the blood flow (somehow!) and therefore 'improve' the blood ridding some of you of your pain.

some of you may notice that those who have had serious operations have a metal bracelet with two metal knobs at the end of the bent metal which do the same thing

Pete

If your technology teacher told you these things work, you need a new teacher. At the very least, you need to be able to describe how they supposedly work.

The magnets in these are extremely weak and have no effect on the circulating iron in blood. There are much more powerful magnets available in medicine, including, for example, MRI machines, and these have no similar effect.

These things have no effect on blood flow, and even if they did, how does "improving" blood flow help? How could the magnet know to direct blood flow to the site of inflammation?

There is no evidence they work, although there are plenty of anecdotes, i.e personal stories. Any treatment supported only by anecdote is bogus. The effect claimed by some people is almost certainly placebo response. Placebo response is higher in people who believe that something will work, and presumably buying one of these is an indication in a willingness to believe it works.

Thanks for all the responses folks, seems to be a divided opinion on these things.

The copper type bracelets have been around for years and still seem to be popular, I was just thinking that todays technology might have made the Trion bands a better buy.

I think you gotta suck it and see.

No matter what the cynics say, for some people they work.

Ok so we don't know why, but that isn't important. Ok for many they don't work, but that's not important either.

If they're good for you, go for it.
