I just don't get it ??

Just come thru Doncaster station and there must have been 10/12 fella's there with their notepads & camera's ......now I know some people don't understand Golfers, but seriously, does ANYONE understand Trainspotting ???

In fairness, they probably don't get why grown men hit a small white ball with a stick, then chase it round a field until they can hit it into a hole, and then repeat the whole shebang 17 more times.

Horses for course I guess.

Or, even worse.......lurk around on t'internet taliking about the above with strangers. :D

Did it as a kid for a while but got bored with it. At least with golf you are out in nicer surroundings and on the move all the time. I am glad it was a passing phase and was at the time of the Deltics that use to run from Kings Cross. Great trains

Still remember the heady days before steam became extinct. We had a railway yard not far from the house and a couple of minutes on the bike had us looking through a fence and over Edinburgh's old suburban line and onto the back of the Slateford yard.

There was a bit of everything around there at that time.

Steam finally became extinct up here in 1968 but we had moved house by then so that was the end of the train spotting.

Even worse is when i am driving my bus around cardiff you have Bus spotters taking photos of them,wierdos....

Yep we have the same over here. It's really bad whenever I used to be parked up waiting on next run and someone would want a guided tour. Sad or what?

Ok. A pound to anyone who can name the class!

I picked these up from my dad last weekend. He'd kept my train set in a box in the garage for the best part of 35 years!

Sadly the track is a goner but one day the locos may work again (midlife crisis?)

:D :D

I was working in Doncaster yesterday and I counted 24 trainspotters as we pulled in at the station, and that was just one platform!! :p

Not sure counting trainspotters is something to be proud of ! :D :D :D

I think you will find that it is a class 08 and a class 31 in its original green livery.
Did it from i was 12 till i was 16 and it was a great way to see the country.
Homer - there are still some deltics going strong. A couple of months a go me and a mate got 55022 Royal Scots Grey from Kings Cross to York. It was out again yesterday from Crewe to Edinburgh !
Diesels - yes leccys not fussed - Steam Trains - kettles on wheels and as for the modern rubbish. They are just carriages on wheels.
Oh my god what have i just owned up to

I'll get my coat :D :D

Is trainspottering (the spotting of trainspotters) worse than just trainspotting?

The shame :o :o

....just to set the record straight no numbers were taken.
