Wondering if anybody out there has had any experience using the Tour Striker training aid club... I suffer a bit from early release and hitting the ball low on the face due to hitting the ball slightly on the way back up. Thinking this club could be the answer by giving instant feedback. Any thoughts?

I have used one and I think it is a useful training aid. I think you need to use it on grass though, for best results. On range mats the club doesn't take a divot, obviously, and the bounce of the mat helps the club head into the right place a bit too much.

I use one.
I have the 8 iron & it does help you to focus on hitting down on the ball & taking a divot afterwards.

I dont get it. So it is supposed to force you to do forward shaft lean basically?

Well sort of, as far as I understand it's a normal club, but withe the bottom 2 or 3 grooves ground away... This means the leading edge is higher up the club, so if you don't have forward shaft-lean and pick it off the turf you'll "blade" it and the ball will run across the floor... The only way to get the ball in the air is to lean the shaft so you are hitting further up the club.

i guess as SocketRocket points out, it will instantly show you something is going wrong... This is where it might be useful for me... But as suggested, feedback that you are doing wrong doesn't tell you how to do it right... But I guess you also get instant feedback when you've hit a good one and you can work on repeating that swing.

Thanks for the feedback... It surprises me a bit that it actually takes a divot, with no "sharp" leading edge to cut into the ground... This sounds good though... So if you get the ball in the air and take a divot then the strike should be spot on...
