Just been for a shaft check at Totally Golf in Harlow and as a result I'm going to a slightly softer shaft... the Rifle 6.5. Mainly due to the launch angles that it was providing.

But the shocking thing up there was what trackman told me about the yardages I'm getting... A hell of a lot further than I expected! Time to rethink the clubs I'm hitting into certain greens as it explains a hell of a lot of missed GIR!

It was fitted by a professional clubfitter. An attempt to lower my ball flight and spin rates. It worked but that was 5 years ago. I've aged.. my swing is slightly less aggressive... and I wanted to refresh the iron setup. Hence a fitting session and the best option was a 6.5. Trialled a mizuno iron with one of those in it and it was pretty much optimal.

Your right Brendy.

Had a shot of Bradley Dredge's irons 2 years ago and they were PX 7.0's. Was lucky to flex them by bending it into the ground lol

Even a man of your physical stature should be able to flex a 7.0 shaft. More lunch time chin ups on your bucket me thinks!!!!
