Top of the league!!!!!

I think Moyes could be in with a shout! Fergie seems to have a soft spot for him and there's always reports about them being pals and that normally leads to talk of Moye's being the man to follow in his footsteps. I don't know who i'd want after Fergie to be honest.. I can only imagine a season or two for transition and realisation that Fergie isn't there.

problem is if fergie goes now he is leaving alot of rebuilding work to be done , if Jose or pep were to take over would they get the money, or more so the time to rebuild , couple this with city seemingly having money to burn im not sure either of the guys mentioned would want it right now .. Not be litteling utd or their achievements but right now they are a shadow of a team we have come to expect representing utd..

And they will still win the league again!!!

I think you are right, but as he is manager of one of your feeder clubs, wouldn't you be his bessie mate.

I'm waiting for Bobby manc to start doing the same with Arsene........

Bladeplayer: couldn't agree more. i think it will take time when he leaves. Hopefully this wont be for another 2 seasons like he has said. If i had to pick someone it would be Moyes because i like Everton and i do like how they play too. If he can average 8th place in the PL with no budget imagine how he'd do with a bit of cash to spend?

Liverbirdie: haha you could say that. yeah it seems to of already started with nasri and clichy going. Although i can see alot of city's youngsters leaving because of the small chance of breaking through. Veseli(?) did that and i don't think it will be long before guidetti, who's had a cracking season in holland, will do the same.

Probably about fourth

Everton play awful football! Normally only one upfront aswell.

Agreed they are poor to watch normally. I look at it this way if Moyes was that good he would have left EFC years ago yet not one single top side has been in for him yet why? I personally do not think he would be that good at a bigger club.

lol i genuinely think he could do a decent job at a top club.

its not the most entertaining football but i just like the way they play. although how Bilbao played was amazing and i'd love to see man.u play like that every game.

Maybe so but at Everton we make do with what we have .. no money, no investment forthcoming , we beat chelsea , city , spurs , first time in ages we have chance of being ahead of Liverpool tonight , if we won we would be in 7th , up til last season we were the only ones to gate crash the BIG 4 .. we spend less than most and seemingly play awful football , doesnt say much for the rest of the league does it ? oh & we are the longest in the topflight ..

Im a realist when it comes to football we are a top half team with hopes of europa league at best & there is no major evidence of that going to change any time soon , but lets be honest of all the teams maybe 5 think they can win it , 8r9 realisticaly hope of a top 6 & the rest , survival is the key ..

This year ? looking at Utd & Citys next 6 fixtures . id say utd have a fair bloody chance of it ... but if the bobs dont get spent at end of season ye are going to become a team vying for top 4 instead of Champions , even die hard utd fans must see that ..

Man Utd are one top central midfielder away from being almost untouchable for as long as Ferguson is in charge, in the league anyway. City badly need to win the title this season, otherwise the manager will go and they'll be a lack of stability and loads of new signings. Chelsea need a major overhaul, Arsenal are nowhere, Spurs will lose their manager and best players. The competition just isn't there at the moment.

Man Utd have been carefully buying young players over the past year or so. The side is young by their standards and has room to grow. The foundations for another great team are in place, all they lack is a Modric/Silva type of midfielder.

I dont think i'd go as far as vying for top 4. i think we'd be a steady 2nd, with city more than likely winning the league. I think we will spend again this summer and get Sneijder although i'd rather get Mario Gotze

They dont really need to change much really. It is looking very likely that they are in for Eden Hazard who in my opinion would make a massive difference to them if they get him along with another central midfielder I have heard Kevin Strootman at PSV mentioned then I think they will win the Prem for the next few years quite easily.

I dont think that Moyes would do well at a Man U, Chelsea but could may do with a villa,Newcastle were there has been some money to spend and top players, but not were there are top, top players(TM Jamie Redknapp) with massive egos.

If the league was based on position in relation to money spent, Everton would have won 8 out of the last 10 leagues, with Moyes. However, it isn't.

I drink Boddington's and bought a Hollies single in 1971, therefore have every right to support the best team every to have played a home match at Maine Road.

Is that a cryptic clue, red or blue?

Man U used to play loads of matches at maine road in the 40/50's due to bomb damage at old trafford. I think man U still have the biggest ever attandance at Maine road.

That rhymes .. your a poet, you just dont know it :D

Regarding DavyM expectation is a heavy load & i agree with your earlier post mayb expectation at Utd or Chelsea might be too much , lets be honest not too managers keep their job 10 years now without winning big stuff .. everton prob need DM more than he needs the club at present tho .. so hope he stays ..

As for this idea of why do non mancs support utd/city (or any other club), do you live localy etc ? i havent been over to Goodison last or this season because baby no3 came along (other 2 are hardy) it costs me nearly as much to travel to see two games a season as a local would pay for a full season ticket .. I started supporting the blues as a kid all my mates were Liverpool , may very well be because they were winning at the time , still supporting them through thick & thin .. spent alot of dosh over the years , buy jersey & merchandise through the club .. does that make me anyy less of a suporter ?
