My Dad used to make jars of pickled onions for Christmas. In those big sweet shop jars and they were really strong and dark brown when we finally opened them - loved them. I used to drink the vinegar too!

That's what HID does. Starts them about September and they usually have a bit of a poke time we break into them on Christmas Day night

i'll buy pickeld onions but i do make a mean chutney with the green tomatos
