I kow that if it usually sounds too good to be true, it is, but I wanted your guys opinions on this.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260663525185&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

On the surface, it seems like it's a bargain...But a bit more looking into it and looking at his (low) feedback, the only two feedback he has comes from buyers with the same username (minus the "1") and he's already sold a set of MP-57's. So they're either fake or fallen off the back of a lorry (I can cope with that :D). But they're cheap!

I realise that if it's kosher, I've alerted it to everyone on here which will rocket the price if anyone else is looking for a set :D

The fact that there is no bedroom carpet would suggest to me that he's a skank!

Avoid is my opinion!

I did think similar :D

There are a few other sets which look better and are still a decent price. Think I'll stick to them!

Have you looked at the "other" sales he has made?? Who the hell pays £120 for "9 golf clubs" from a blurry picture???

That was the first alarm bell. Think I'm going to set my budget a smidgen higher and aim for some of the other sets that are currently listed. Win them, send them to my sister and get her to give them to me for Christmas. Everyone's a winner :D

Bid on them and PM him saying you will collect in person.... if you win, send me the money and I will pick them up and forward them on to you. I suspect once you say you will collect he will 5hit himself and remove them.

Looking at the description of the clubs (no shaft description etc) and the wording, I would say that they are deffo nicked. So you could get yourself a cheap set - send him a message and make a silly offer :D

Whoever he nicked them off has probably already made an insurance claim and got themselves a spanking new set of irons so your conscience should be clear :D

Assuming he was insured, and that the insurance paid out. I am a bit sensitive to this having been burgled, and lost about £3k worth of stuff. No, the insurance didn't cover it. If no one bought hookey stuff, there wouldn't be any theiving.

I might take up manandra's offer. At least he can go and see them (if the bloke follows through) and make sure the'yre not rubbish. And he lists them as "as new" so if they're all battered and used, he can refuse to give him the cash if they're rubbish.

you would not blur a photo if they were stolen, but you may if they are fake.

The picture of the '9 irons' he has feedback for (which appears he sold to someone with an almost identical name??) are the MP57s arent they?

Also says he's moving to Aus for 18months on the description? Very suspicious!

:D

I can see the headline now: "Edinburgh man hospitalised in eBay purchase gone wrong!"

I reckon I'm going to steer clear and pay a bit more for clubs that will leave me with a clear conscience!

What a joke of an ebay listing.
Shocking blurry pictures and incoherent babbling text. The main thing I got form the listing was the fact that they are "a joy to play with"

Presume the carpet was sold to pay for the smack hids habit. Likewise the golf clubs! :D
