Too good to be true prices?

its just as well those prices aren't real. can you imagine the amount of new shiney posts on here. I would have a stupid amount of clubs. I already own a silly amount! :o

Please swerve this website, the clubs are as fake as they come, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS SITE

When I first took up golf properly about 2 years ago I went through the process of testing and looking at shiney new clubs. Went to all the usual reputable outlets to check everything out, then scoured the net to try and get what I wanted cheaper.

Settled on some new irons, driver and putter and found a website which was extremely similar to this one (cannot remember the exact name). The total price was approx £300 cheaper than what I would have to pay for all the clubs in a shop, therefore I took the plunge and ordered them, stupidly ignoring the pigeon English and lack of true contact details on the website.

I went away feeling like I had got a true bargain

After a few days of ordering, something clicked on in my head and I thought this was too good to be true. Tried to cancel the order but they said the transaction had already been processed and that the clubs were in transit. I then done some research on the net and found that "fake" clubs were rife and websites were popping up all over the place selling clubs direct from China.

Went back to the website and used the online messaging tool to speak to one of their "advisors" to ask them a whole load of questions about their site and their clubs. They said they were based in London, the clubs came direct from the manufacturer cutting out the middle man hence why they were cheap, and that they were 100% genuine clubs. Managed to get the full name of the advisor so started to research this person. Through registering with linkedin I tracked this guy down and it turned out he was based in China and had registered to him a whole load of golf domain names. Checked these out and the website were all a variant on the one I ordered from, all having the same gmail email account !! Then found out he was under investigation for selling counterfeit products !!

Defo thought I had been ripped off so I contacted my credit card company (fortunately I had paid via this method) to report the issue and to be fair to them they were really understanding (I just played dumb, which to be fair was not hard due to my shear stupidity in ordering from from the site in the first place)

I then received a failed delivery card through the door saying my clubs were in the local post office ready for collection, not a cat in hells chance I was going to take delivery of them, best to let them stay there and be sent back to where they came from. Could not be 100% sure they were fake but there was no way I was going to take the risk of checking as once in my possession I could then be liable for the cost.

Then after a couple of weeks I received a letter from the card company saying they had refunded my card in full.

Felt a right fool that I nearly got fully ripped off but soooooooooooo glad I had paid via Credit Card.

It was a lesson worth learning.

Went to www.direct-golf.co.uk and got my clubs and received superb service.

The moral of this story is ALWAYS CHECK THE WEBSITE OUT FULLY AND IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM, if you do however order then PAY BY CREDIT CARD as you may be covered if something goes wrong

Apologies for the lengthy message and the SHOUTING but just don't want any fellow golfers being ripped off by these dodgy sites.

As a final check I went back to the website a few weeks later and up pops the message "this site is under investigation by the US Federal Department for selling counterfeit goods" ..... I most defo got lucky !!

Hope this story helps

That would make far too much sense!

Here's another cracker (TM R9 Supermax) -

"i like this driver since it is from taylormade and i really fantasy in this brand. this drivergot good performace in its forgiveness! i shot rather high and it decrised my missing."

Hi,
I've been looking around for a driver and found these sites

golfsalesupply.co.uk
ukbestpricegolf.co.uk
golfsalewholesale.com
ukclubstore.com
All related to the site mentioned by the OP.
When I was on one of the sites there was an online help window. I asked if they did cash on delivery. You can guess what the reply was. Hope no one is taken in by these sites.

Cheers
Chris
