Great round from Watson - rolling back the years. Westwood, Casey, Mickelson, Els all putting together good knocks so far and Poulter also has an early birdie. Hopefully this Masters won't all be about you-know-who!
Personally I would love the Big Easy to walk off Sunday with the Green Jacket on his back, but would be equally happy if it's Westwood, Casey or Poulter.
To knock it round Augusta in 67 shots at age 60 is pretty unbelievable. After what happended at Turnberry this round today proves that performance wasn't some kind of links-induced fluke, the man is sheer class.
Ok so he'll fade away over the next day or two but a sparkling effort nonetheless.
Mickelson looking ominous - I knew I should have backed him again but he just had no form coming into this.
Ross Fishers looking tidy. I've got Mickleson, i heard him interview last week and he seemed so pleased with the way he was hitting it.....I dont know why as he had zero form, but it just sounded so ominus i had to have a punt.
I have just got back from following Ernie and Anthony Kim on the front nine. Both look to be striking it beatiufully. Kim hit his tee shot on the 2nd about 100 yards left into the trees but didn't miss a shot after that. Ernie seems extremely confident, particularly on these scary greens.
Also managed to catch Tom Watson playing the 18th. It is well worth watching in the highlights later! A great day so far but storm clouds are on the way.
Wouldn't it be great to see Tom and Freddie coming up the 18th on Sunday in a head-to-head 4 shots clear of the pack.
I'm dreaming but wouldn't it be something else.......
Sorry to highjack the thread but i was very disappointed with the BBC turning the 9 o'clock coverage into a tiger fest, I think Sam Torance is in love with him.
Yes he is the best player in the world but there were other things going on, on the course.
I may be doing them an injustice as they might have to take what they get from the American coverage.
