today's golfer

Interesting to read this thread as I received my copy of TG only the other day and after a quick skim through, have decided to cancel my subscription.

I like GM and I think that Golf World is a really good magazine too. Some really good stuff in the new July issue.

I can't stand reviews where it's just a bland rehash of the manufacturers blurb.

totally agree with this. unfortunately GM suffers from it too. a test should challenge the manufacturer's claims and say where they're upheld and where they fail.

I liked Golf Punk...until it stopped arriving and they (maybe) went bust. Subscription was a birthday gift but i only got one edition in the last 12 months

bought golf Punk and it's a decent read but not seen it for a few months. subscribe to GM but get National club Golfer free at the course as there's always a pile on the counter. Decent mag with the same adverts etc for nowt ;)

Also would like direct comparison between thnew model and the older one. Unrealistic I know but how many timeshave you found the newer model to be little improvement or, in some cases, worse

I used to subscribe to TG, and then got very bored of the same old stuff being re-hashed every few momths on the instructional side of things.

I agree, their gear reviews I like, but they are more biased, especially toward Ping, I find.

I now only read GM and GW, and have recently subscribed to GW to get the dozen yellow z-stars!! :)

When I started on my golfing journey I went for TG for the first couple of months, I was suckered in by the free gifts each month.

Went to buy it one month and it felt really thin, picked up the mag next to it and have been GM ever since.
