today at princes

this morning sammmebee (sam) murphthemog (chris) htl (hywel) and myself headed down to princes for a session of Links golf.

We had absolutely sublime weather, playing in shirt-sleeves in warm, sunny and with a very light wind.

The winner of the individual stableford was sam with 30 points.

The pairs matchplay was won by sam and myself 2&1.

All in all it was a great day, as always nice to play a round with other forummers and enjoy a fine days golf.

Just how far can Sam hit a 3 iron if he catches it clean?

Got home, 225 miles, 1/4 tank of otto's muck. Driving at a boring 65 really pays off if you have the time.

jon - 27 handicap my arse!!! He hit some corkers - if only you could putt!!!

htl - going to the toy shop to restock on ammo!!

sam - needs to play more to get anyway near the handicap....roll on Wednesday!!

Really appreciated the yardage advice with the sky caddie though Sam.

Why is there this current trend to do away with 150 yard markers? Ok, they want to sell a strokesaver, but they don't tell you there are no yardage markers before you go out, so sale missed, pissed off golfer. Wtf.

Princes are not the first to do this, there have been others. If they want repeat business (yes please Jon), they need to get their act together and stop making it more difficult than it is.

As for my putting, sam is right, went out today and was on blinding form tee-to-green but couldnt buy a putt again.

Good stuff, looks like another meet is taking shape. The yardage situation was crap but the way I was playing by the time I hit the fairway it was all over.
