To good to be true?

Hi, I'm new here.

On the members board at our golf club someone has put a note up about them selling a Powakaddy with battery for £80. It seems to good to be true, is there something I should be looking for and will I need to buy anything else for it?

Just googled a battery, would appear they are quite pricey. I wouldn't mind betting that's why he's getting shot of it so cheap.

I'm guessing this is quite an old model, being sold on after they have upgraded to something new and shiny, or a coffin.

My refurbed one is only 2 models old and was just 100 with a working 18 hole battery.

Maybe it is just old and worn out. Go ask to give it a spin before you buy, if he refuses just dont buy it and tell others he wouldnt let you try it first!

If it's in good nick then it is cheap, in which case ask if it's stolen....if it is then only offer £50

I've got a Powakaddy Legend Classic, they go on forever. I think I picked up a 36hole battery from a pro shop on ebay for £55 or so.

I've never washed the trolley or ever had it serviced, just plug and go every time. Rotary switch contacts are a bit dodgy, but apart from that all is good.

The claasic model can still be seen going strong. A guy I play with has had he's classic for 10 years and he plays twice a week!

Absolutely bulletproof,mine is 8 years old and i can't see any reason to replace it.It may not be as light or quiet as the newer models,but at the end of day,i plug it in,put my clubs on,and it takes my clubs around the course,and drags me up the steeper hills.Last battery i bought cost me £50,but i used it at least twice a week and it lasted almost two years.
